Project Description

The inaugural Himalayan Swing Open 2025, organized by the Rotary Club of Himalayan Golfers, was held at the Gokarna Forest Resort Golf Club, bringing together Rotarians, golf enthusiasts, and distinguished guests for a day of sport and service. Honorable Minister Anil Kumar Sinha graced the occasion as Chief Guest, and District Governor Binod Koirala attended as Guest of Honor. A standout moment of the event was the introduction of Avanie Rai, the first scholarship recipient under the club's Golf for All initiative. Coming from an underprivileged background, Avanie is set to train at the Tarun Sardesai Golf Academy in Karnataka, India, and her win in the Ladies' Category on the day was a fitting reflection of her talent and determination.
The tournament raised Rs. 45 to 50 lakhs through the support of sponsors and well-wishers and fellow rotarians from RACHG. funds that will go toward empowering young golfers who lack the means to pursue the sport professionally. The Himalayan Swing Open is envisioned as an annual event, and its first edition has set a strong foundation as a platform where sportsmanship and Rotary service come together with lasting purpose.
