Project Description
Though Bhujung is a major settlement in the region, this was the first cataract surgery camp ever conducted in the village, making it a landmark event for residents and neighboring communities such as Mallingo and Nau-Ghalegaun. The initiative formed part of the broader “Reaching the Unreached” project, dedicated to delivering essential healthcare to remote and underserved areas.
Despite the challenging terrain, the camp produced highly
encouraging results:
• 658 individuals screened
• 78 cataract surgeries completed
• 350 black spectacles distributed
By bringing vital eye care directly to the hills, the project restored not only vision but also independence, dignity, and hope to those who needed it most.
