Project Description
A total of 1,321 individuals were screened across multiple health posts and community sites in the area, out of which 96 were diagnosed with cataracts. Of these, 68 patients underwent successful free cataract surgeries, with 6 patients receiving surgeries on both eyes. Patients who could not be operated on immediately were referred to Nepal Eye Hospital in Kathmandu for further free treatment.
The camp was a shining example of collaborative Rotary service in action, embodying the spirit of “Unite for Good” and “Service Above Self.” The restored vision and renewed hope among the elderly patients made this initiative a deeply meaningful and inspiring contribution to the community. The Rotary Club of Himalayan Golfers is proud to have been part of this extraordinary effort.
